In Puzzle Mode
The first six animals create the color groups that matter for scoring, combos, and level goals.
ZooBlocks begins with six readable puzzle animals, then expands into a full 12-animal zoo roster. Early animals help you read the board; later animals drive the diamond economy that powers your long-term progression.
The first six animals appear directly in puzzle play, and the later six expand the zoo economy. This page now uses the same visual animal system as the homepage and the live game, so what you see here matches the real in-game art direction.
Beyond the six puzzle animals, the zoo system expands the roster to 12 total animals. Later unlocks are built for progression, not just decoration. Each new tier represents a stronger source of diamonds per second and a much larger long-term jump in value.
The newer the animal, the more important it usually becomes as an upgrade target. That is why late-game strategy favors pushing your newest unlock rather than over-investing in the weakest early animals.
In puzzle mode, animals are functional. Clear silhouettes and strong color separation help you spot valid groups quickly and reduce missed pop opportunities.
In zoo mode, the roster becomes the backbone of progression. Each animal is both a collectible milestone and a production tier that changes how valuable your future puzzle runs become.
The first six animals create the color groups that matter for scoring, combos, and level goals.
Owned animals generate diamonds every second and make later puzzle rewards more valuable.
The full roster gives the game a clear sense of growth from small puzzle runs to much larger late-game economies.
Knowing the early animals helps you read the board faster. Knowing the late animals helps you spend diamonds much more efficiently.
